Marinated Cheese:
One of the Best Cheese Appetizer Recipes Ever!
This marinated cheese is one of the best cheese appetizer recipes you will ever taste!
The robust flavors of popular cheeses are complimented by an outstanding southwestern marinade, creating an incredible party appetizer that you've just got to try!
The Cheese Marinade
You'll need:
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 6 oz. roasted red bell peppers, drained and diced
- 3 green onions, minced
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Whisk together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, and lime juice in a small bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Set aside.
The Cheeses
You can pretty much use any cheese that you like, but here are my recommendations:
- 1 (8 oz.) block sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) block Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) block Mozzarella cheese
Cut each block of cheese in half lengthwise. Cut the halves crosswise into 1/4-inch thick slices.
Putting It All Together
Place cheese slices in a shallow dish; pour marinade over top. Cover and chill for at least 8 hours.
Arrange cheese slices alternately on a serving platter. Spoon remaining marinade over top.
You can serve with crackers, if desired, but my experience is that the guests would rather eat it alone. Just put out some party picks and let them have at it!
