Chocolate Hedgehog Cake

Chocolate Hedgehog Cake

I made this hedgehog cake for my friends daughter. She loves chocolate and has a bit of a thing about hedgehogs, so we did both in overload.

The cake was a shop-bought sponge cake, carved into a general hedgehog shape. We then covered it in chocolate fondant icing, and dragged a cocktail stick over gently to look like hair. The 'spikes' were made from cut up flake bars, but you could also use mint sticks or chocolate fingers.

Finally, we added M&M's for the eyes.
Not only did it look really quite cute, but it tasted lovely.
