Make Her Dreams Come True With a Princess Pageant Party!

princess pageant party

Every little girl loves to dress up and pretend that she is a princess.

This princess pageant party will make all of her dreams come true!

Princess Pageant Party Invitations

The invitations for this party should be full of glitz and glitter for this royal occasion!

Make your own invitations using sparkly papers from the scrapbook store. Shape them to look like princess crowns or glittery slippers, including all of the party details inside.

Fill-in-the-blank invitations are another option. You can get a pack of 8 sparkly Princess Invitations at a very affordable price, and they'd fit this party theme perfectly.

If you are looking for invitations that are a little more unique and personal, Princess Birthday Party Invitations by Cross-My-Heart are a great choice!

You can purchase them blank and print them yourself, or you can have them custom printed by the seller. Either way, you get to choose the wording, making them a custom fit for your little princess!

Be sure to let the guests know that they should come dressed in their most beautiful dress-up clothes, and that they will be pampered with make-up and nail polish at the party.

If you would like the parents to stay, be sure to note that on the invitations, as well.

Princess Pageant Party Supplies

Paper Goods

The best (and most cost effective) way to buy themed party supplies is to buy a party kit. These party kits include all of the paper goods that you'll need for up to 8 guests, PLUS invitations, silverware, candles, a tablecloth, 18 latex balloons in 3 different colors, a mylar balloon to match the paper goods, 3 rolls of crepe paper streamers, and 3 rolls of curling ribbon...all for less than $40!

You can even purchase the deluxe party kit that includes 8 favor bags and you'll have all of your supply shopping done in a jiffy! I have done this numerous times and have been happy with it every time.

Do you have more than 8 guests coming? No problem! You can order additional guest packs for each extra person.

Party Decorations

This is a pageant party, so you'll want to have a runway, a stage, and a dressing area.

If it is warm outside, you can use your front walkway as the runway and your front steps or porch as the stage. Set up chairs on your front lawn for the audience and judges. Use a room inside the house as your dressing area.

Use lots of shiny, metallic stars to dress up your party areas.

Balloons bundled together and placed sporadically around the area are a fun touch, too. If you purchase the party kit mentioned above, the balloons will be included!

Some other things you'll want to have on hand for your princess pageant party...

  • A microphone or karaoke machine to announce each princess as she walks down the runway.

  • Makeup, nail polish and hair accessories.

  • A bouquet of flowers for each girl (I made bouquets out of flowers from the Dollar Store and wrapped them in metallic tissue paper).

  • Lots of helpers! You'll need to enlist some of the moms or some friends to help with the makeovers. You'll also need the dads or some neighbors to be the judges and to sit in the audience.

  • Signs for the judges. Print words on them like beautiful, gorgeous, lovely, etc. and have the judges hold them up and shout the words as each girl walks down the runway.

  • A charged camera or camcorder.

  • Pampering Sessions: Give each of the girls a fresh new look for their trip down the runway! Set up stations in your "dressing area" to include a nail polishing station, a make-up station, and a hair styling station.

  • The Crowning Moment: Have each of the girls decorate their own tiara that they'll be crowned with during the pageant. Create-a-Tiara craft kits icon are available that are perfect for this project. Each kit includes 12 tiaras, glitter glue pens, jewels, and stickers and is very reasonably priced.

  • The Princess Pageant: The big moment that everyone has been waiting for! After each girl has been transformed into a princess, her name is announced to the crowd as "Princess child's name", and the audience cheers as she walks down the runway and steps onto the stage. She is crowned with her tiara and is given a beautiful bouquet of flowers as her prize. Be sure to take lots of pictures of each princess (they are a PERFECT addition to thank you notes), as well as a group picture of everyone together. Also remember to have the judges cheering and holding up the signs as the girls take their walk down the runway!

Special Tips: Make sure that any parents that didn't stay to help with the party return to sit in the audience and watch the pageant. The kids will LOVE having their parents there to watch them walk down the runway! Also, make sure you enlist a few helpers to "announce" each princess, to hold the crowns and to hold the flowers onstage while waiting for the girls.

Princess Pageant Party Favors

Princess Party Favor Kit Princess Party Favor Kits that go perfectly with this theme can be purchased individually, but it is more cost effective to order them with the party kit mentioned above in the party supplies section.

The tiaras and the flower bouquets can also serve as party favors.

Princess Pageant Party Birthday Cake

A crown-shaped birthday cake is the perfect ending to this dream-come-true party!

Just bake a simple cake mix in the shaped pan, frost it with some pink buttercream frosting and a few embellishments, and voila! You've got yourself a beautiful birthday cake!
