The Best of the Bayou Seafood Pizza Recipe
Large shrimp, Creole seasoning, and Roasted Garlic Sauce make this seafood pizza recipe utterly irresistible!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 2 tsp. Creole seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2/3 cup Roasted Garlic Sauce (recipe follows)
- 1 refrigerated pizza crust
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
In a large skillet cook shrimp and next 4 ingredients in oil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, 3 to 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.
Spread Roasted Garlic Sauce over pizza crust; top with shrimp mixture. Sprinkle with cheeses.
Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes or until bubbly.
Roasted Garlic Sauce for this Seafood Pizza Recipe:
- 2 heads garlic, unpeeled
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 2/3 cup chicken broth
Place garlic on a piece of aluminum foil and drizzle with olive oil. Fold edges together and seal.
Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes; cool.
Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Cut off top of each garlic head, and squeeze cooked garlic into pan. (It will be soft and sticky).
Add flour, and cook, stirring constantly with a wire whisk, 1 minute or until lightly browned.
Add chicken broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and bubbly.
