Baked Vidalia Onion Dip

vidalia onion dip

This baked vidalia onion dip is absolutely delicious!

Even non-onion-lovers will eat this up. One of my girlfriends hates onions and she was scarfing this up!

(I didn't tell her until after she tasted it that she was eating onions). :)

How to Make this Yummy Dip

  • 3 large Vidalia onions, chopped (other sweet onions, like Mayans, can be used if Vidalias aren't available)

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Saute onions in butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until tender and opaque.

Add cheese, mayo, hot sauce, and garlic to onions. Mix well.

Pour into a cast iron skillet or casserole dish. Bake in a 350° oven, uncovered, for about 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

Serve warm with blue tortilla chips.
